Top flight Italian and Spanish football has been shown on subscription-based screening service Eleven Sports this season but reports suggest the company have just 50, subscriptions. The company, owned by Leeds United chief Andrea Radrizzani, is said to be at risk of closure due to growing financial losses after just four months on air. As a result, it is looking likely that the rights to show La Liga and Serie A action could be back on the market earlier than expected.
Weekend coverage will move from Saturday evenings to Saturday lunchtime. It is also the only pace to watch German Bundesliga and French Ligue 1 football. Rugby: BT Sport is the official broadcast partner of the Champions and Challenge cups and broadcast up to matches per season.
Their current deal with Premiership Rugby in England runs until and allows them to cover up to 80 matches. However, these rights only apply to the UK, meaning Premier Sports will not show Pro14 matches in Ireland because Eir are still the exclusive broadcasters.
They also carry coverage of the Nations League including the semi-finals and final and European qualifiers but no Ireland matches.
Rugby: Virgin Media Sport will show every Six Nations match live until and the station also carries every match live on their free-to-air channel. They also show nine live matches per season from the Heineken Champions Cup free-to-air.
Rugby: Eir Sport is the only channel in Ireland that will broadcast all 48 Rugby World Cup matches live later this year. Eir Sport also have the rights to all Pro14 games.
