The networks and platforms that broadcast the games, which are among the most watched on US TV, have complicated rights deals with the NFL that grant them specific matches on specific platforms in specific parts of the world. The contracts betray little logic to anyone outside the negotiating rooms. Previously, only Verizon customers were able to watch for free on mobile.
Those products all require a subscription of one kind or another, but there is also some free content available to those who don't subscribe to any of them, as well as free access to NFL Now.
Scroll down the page to see screenshots of the NFL channel on Roku. You can find it under the Live option in the left-hand menu on the NFL channel's home screen. If you don't subscribe to any of those, the NFL Roku channel channel is limited to game scores, game highlights, and clips of NFL shows.
The channel launches with a selection of "Latest" videos, which are all unlocked. Over a dozen videos were available at the time of our review, most of which were show clips featuring NFL broadcast personalities - titles included "Rapoport: McCarron out several weeks with collarbone injury," "Schrager: Patrick Mahomes is NFL's human highlight reel," and "Kay Adams' top 10 fantasy wide receivers for Select "Games" from the left-hand menu on the channel's home screen for scores of the current week's games.
From the top of the "Games" screen you can select previous weeks from the and seasons and also see weekly schedules for all remaining games. Select any completed game for a library of related videos, which may include weekly game clips, "can't miss plays" and other game-related content.
Likewise, selecting a team from the "Teams" screen will give you related videos such as weekly highlight reels, game clips, and show clips discussing the selected team.
In addition to full broadcast replays, subscribers can watch condensed games that are about 45 minutes long, or the "All" film showing every play. Although you can sign up through the Roku channel, a 7-day free trial is available through this link , which isn't offered when you subscribe through your Roku device.
All 65 preseason games are also available on NFL Network.
RedZone broadcasts every Sunday afternoon during the NFL season with live coverage of NFL games across the country, including every touchdown from every game. To see if your provider allows access on Roku, follow the instructions below on how to install and use the NFL channel.
Select "NFL" and then select "Add channel". The NFL channel will now be listed as the last channel on your Roku's home screen.
